ESSEX

FEATURED TOWN

SMALL TOWN, HOME TOWN
Essex, Ontario

Covering around 641 square miles on the north shore of Lake Erie, Town of Essex is a home to a little over 20,000 residents. The town has two busy urban areas - Essex centre and Harrow, and is famous for their beautiful parklands and wineries.  Essex is located below the 42nd parallel, a latitude shared with northern California and the French Riviera, a trait that helps them to produce some of Ontario’s best wines.

HOMETOWN PRIDE

“You can’t get a better community like Essex, I am telling you. We look after each other. You can’t beat the small town.”

Ron McDermott

Retired Mayor, Town of Essex

COMMUNITY TIES

“Our town is just so homely. You can’t go anywhere without running into someone you know. Big cities don’t have this small town hospitality."

Stephanie Quick

Store Manager, Red Apple Essex

HOCKEY LOVE

If you are a sport’s lover, you will blend right in with the locals. The sports arena hosts games every week. It’s also the home of Ontario’s junior C hockey league star Essex 73s. Their hockey game brings people to Essex from all over the province.
